| New Album Coming Soon... and new touring van. May 24th, 2007 |
Celtic Spring is celebrating the completion of their second CD," Cornerstone." The album has been mastered, the graphics are completed and it is now being duplicated for release on our tour which begins in Pennsylvania on June 19th. After working on the album throughout the fall, performing frequently in the winter and spring, (I think Deirdre counted 35 performances in 70 days,) completing last bits of recording and mixing with Jeff Evans at Zircon Skye in April, mastering with Doug Sax at the Mastering Lab, and working with the wonderful graphic artist, Andy Engel and his assistant, Glenn, the work is done and we eagerly await Cornerstone's release. A big thank you to all who have helped us in the production and also, a big thank you to our fans who are eagerly awaiting the release of "Cornerstone." We hope to meet all of you as we perform throughout the United States in the next months. To provide an update of news besides the CD: We were performing in Atlanta in January when Sean came down with what we thought was a bad flu. He peformed in Atlanta, getting out of bed to do the show, had a few days at home before we were off to Florida, only for Sean to diagnose himself with appendicitis the night before we flying east again. I took him to the local emergency room only for the doctor to tell us that he had a ruptured appendix. I was grateful for his self-diagnose before we both got on the airplane, and I was amazed with his high threshhold for pain. While the rest of the family performed in Florida, Sean and I stayed home while he had surgery and 13 days of recovery in the hospital. The family continued to perform without us for another couple of weeks until the doctor said he was once again fit as a fiddle. We were deeply grateful to have Sean healthy again and back in fine form. Celtic Spring will now be found driving a shiny, large black Sprinter van that can hold all of our equipment, including our stage (cut to fit in the van), and keyboard. The van is a ten passenger, and 9 feet tall. We can stand up in it, but better yet, we can play our instruments while we are on the road. We will be logging many miles this summer as we cross the country twice. (We are on the east coast performing for six weeks, with two days of performing in southern California in the middle of our east coast tour.) I am tempted to call the van "Monster" as it is huge and takes up most of our driveway; everyone in our little town will know when we are on the road. The van is called "St. Michael," named after the angel, St. Michael. We need all of the angels to protect us as we spent many days on the road. So, if you see a huge black van in your town or on the highway, wave to Celtic Spring! << Back |
