Celtic Spring has some exciting news. We have been chosen to be on a new NBC show called," America's Got Talent." We head down to Los Angeles tonight for three days of rehearsing and filming. The show will be a competition highlighting talent from all over the United States and we hear that the winning act will receive $1,000,000. We would be delighted to win (and fulfill our dream of returning to Europe to perform for an extended stay) but we are just happy to share our beautiful music and dance and bring joy to a culture much in need of it.
Our girls, Elizabeth and Deirdre, finished exams last Friday at Thomas Aquinas College, arrived home on Saturday afternoon, and were immediately swept up into family life with Celtic Spring. They walked in the door, took out their fiddles, and warmed up for a Saturday evening performance in our own town, with the Ojai Community Chorus and their Youth Ensemble. The choruses picked a Celtic theme for their spring performance and invited Celtic Spring to join them, both accompanying and performing their own sets. We were very impressed with both choirs and were delighted to work together to produce something beautiful.
We have begun a very full summer of performing and traveling to fiddle camps. We are just grateful to be all together again doing what we love.
